3D compositions
Pikimov supports 3D compositions, allowing you to create motion graphics and animations with real 3D depth, rotation, and perspective. In a 3D composition, each item's position, rotation, and scale are defined along three axes (X, Y, and Z), unlike in 2D compositions where only two axes are used.
To create a 3D composition, set the camera space to 3D in the New Composition panel. You can also convert an existing 2D composition to 3D, and vice versa. To do this, change the composition type in the Composition tab located in the left-hand column.
3D Camera
Pikimov supports a basic camera system for navigating 3D space:
- The camera has its own transform controls and keyframes.
- The camera can be either free or constrained to a target position.
- Currently no effects can be added cirectly to a camera.
Use Cases
- Create parallax effects with layered backgrounds
- Simulate 3D rotations of flat elements
- Animate camera moves between 2D or 3D objects
Tip
Combine 3D layers with grouping to build more complex 3D structures, like rotating cubes or fake 3D interfaces.
